Having phobias can limit your way of living and can make you look at several things negatively. For example, if you have an irrational fear of flying, then chances are you won’t be able to ride a plane without freaking out or completely losing it. It is the same as other stuff such as having animals, sleeping in the dark, going out with friends, and working on a late schedule. Having a phobia can prevent you from doing certain things that other people can do. It can also have a lasting effect on your relationship with your family and friends.

Feel Helpless And Isolated

Not being able to do some things can make you feel isolated and helpless as well. And feeling left out can sometimes turn into sadness which can then lead to more pressing health damages such as depression and anxiety. Having this heavy feeling in your chest might also affect other aspects of your life that will make you feel vulnerable at all times.

Another downside to having a phobia is the feeling of embarrassment. When you can’t do certain things that most people can, you will feel ashamed. Aside from that, it can also raise questions and create awkward situations with the people around you. As previously mentioned, your relationships with your family and friends can be affected by it, and being embarrassed by the things you’re afraid to do can perhaps make it worse.

Makes You Hate Yourself

It is one of the worst effects of having a phobia. Not being able to do or conquer things like other people can be a very frustrating situation. And despite the fact that you know how irrational and annoying phobias can be, these limits can plant negative emotions inside your head that will make you see yourself differently.
